            Our History

MissionMexico was founded in 1992 with the expressed purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Mexico.  Originally dedicated to assist in planting a new Mexican Christian church in Mexico City,  the ministry was asked by other missionaries and Mexican pastors to provide greatly needed assistance in their efforts to reach their community with the Gospel.    The original effort to plant the first church was very successful and the Mexican believers took responsibility for their local church which enabled MissionMexico to expand it’s efforts to help others that were in need of resources to penetrate their local areas with the Word of God.

During the years since MissionMexico has assisted over 20 other national churches in establishing their local ministry.    One of the ways of achieving that has been through co-laboring with other like-minded ministry and organizations throughout Mexico.    MissionMexico has worked with Athletes in Action, the World Cataract Foundation and the Fellowship Tract League to impart the Gospel to a lost and dying people.

MissionMexico has established a permanent mission base in San Miquel Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico and is currently associated with Cristo Roca Eterna,  (Christ the Eternal Rock),  a Mexican national church.    In addition,  the ministry has established a Christian school which currently has over 60 students. The school is open to the public and utilizes the Accelerated Christian Education program that is biblically based. The school has a daily chapel service that has been effective in reaching many of the students and parents with the Gospel.

Other ministry opportunities include a film ministry, Gospel saturation, prayer walks and a church planting effort on the Chichimeca Indian reservation.    There are also opportunities for short-term mission teams to engage in construction, sports days and vacation Bible clubs.   Currently, there is a weekly Bible club at the mission base that averages 50 children.

The future for the ministry is very exciting as MissionMexico has been able to purchase a 1000 square meter piece of city property with the vision to build a multipurpose building that will be home for the George Washington Carver Christian school,  a local church,  and a larger mission base for those who are called of God to reach Mexico.
